Lots of Moons
Jupiter has more than 90 moons! That’s a lot of moons compared to Earth, which has just one. Some of Jupiter’s moons are really interesting. One of them, Europa, might even have an ocean under its icy surface. Scientists think there could be life in that ocean!
Another moon, Ganymede, is the largest moon in the whole solar system—even bigger than the planet Mercury! So not only is Jupiter huge, but it also has some of the coolest moons around.
A Powerful Magnet
Jupiter also has a very strong magnetic field. This invisible force acts like a giant magnet. It’s so strong that it traps particles from the Sun and creates bright lights called auroras near the planet’s poles—kind of like the northern lights here on Earth.
